They advocate for their Teamster co-workers by investigating workplace issues and bringing concerns and formal grievances to management’s attention. To enable Shop Stewards to carry out these important functions, the Union's Education and Training Department provides special courses which equip Shop Stewards with the skills and the knowledge to represent their members effectively.Teamster Stewards are the backbone of the Union! Stewards monitor and enforce the collective bargaining agreement that has been negotiated between the union and management at their workplace.
